I build websites for a living. I ride horses for fun. For something in between, I write books. Though I grew up in rural Arizona, I now live with my wonderful husband and our enthusiastic Australian Shepherd in Iowa City with our horses nearby.

I bought my first domain name in 2003. I started building websites for artists in exchange for ceramics and prints in 2004 and got my first paying gigs soon after. In 2009, I launched Brown Wing Studio. With my background in fine art and self-taught knowledge of front-end coding languages, I serve as both designer and developer on most projects. I also sometimes work in a creative director or consultation capacity to support in-house teams. I am passionate about creating websites that contribute to an inclusive and ethical web.
